Lynda Letourneau, OTR/L is the founder and director of Functional Therapeutics. Nationally certified as an Occupational Therapist and in Biofeedback, Lynda has worked in skilled nursing facilities, rehab and living centers, and hospitals in Florida and North Carolina for more than thirty years. She has also worked in private practice with an emphasis on handwriting evaluations, individualized therapeutic yoga, home health and school-based needs/assessments with home programs developed. Lynda has a specialization in neurology and geriatrics as well as a strong interest in Dementia care. Passionate about helping others and deeply concerned for the overall wellbeing of her patients, working in traditional environments made it clear to Lynda that while the hard work of rehabilitation was successful, the human need for delight while recovering was often lost in the process.
Lynda launched Functional Therapeutics in 2003 as a means to engage patients in traditional healing while encouraging innovative, and enjoyable ways to improve skills and mobility. Integrating traditional practices with movement, storytelling and voice, Lynda offers a unique approach to healing that encompasses the broader nature and personality of her patients, while taking into consideration their environment, support team, and family needs. Allowing fun to be the lens through which therapeutic work is accomplished, Lynda brings a unique perspective to the healing process and supports patients as they build a path to improvement or recovery.
Along with her professional certifications, Lynda is a trained Therapeutic Yoga Instructor and InterPlay Leader. She holds a BS in Occupational Therapy from Florida International University and is fluent in French, English, and fun.
